And one of those veterans is helping lead the charge. Paul Cupach has generously committed $10,000 to match donations dollar-for-dollar and challenge others to Answer the Call.

WHY PAUL ANSWERED THE CALL

Paul Cupach isn't simply supporting this mission. He lived it.

Paul served with the 417th Aircraft Maintenance Unit at a top-secret facility on the Nevada Test and Training Range. Like so many who served there, he had no idea about the extent of the hazardous exposures surrounding him.

In 2020, Paul was diagnosed with kidney cancer and a rare thymoma. He later began reconnecting with veterans he had served alongside and learned how many were sick, or, had already died. That's when his questions became personal.

Paul eventually connected with TIE Chairman Dave Crete and learned about the growing fight to secure recognition, treatment and support for veterans exposed while serving on the NTTR.

Today, Paul is helping ensure the veterans who came after him don't have to fight alone.

“Supporting TIE is one way I can help take care of the guys after me.” — Paul Cupach

His $10,000 Veterans Day matching gift is an invitation for the rest of us to join him.
