The Invisible Enemy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to securing justice for U.S. military personnel, Department of Defense employees, and contractors who were exposed to toxic radiation and hazardous environmental contamination while serving at the Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR).

Since 1951, the NTTR has been the site of more than 900 nuclear detonations and decades of weapons testing, exposing thousands of service members to dangerous levels of radiation and toxic chemicals. Many veterans and their families now suffer from cancers, neurological disorders, reproductive issues, and other life-threatening illnesses linked to this exposure. Because their missions were classified, many of these veterans have had their service records redacted or “data masked,” preventing them from proving their service and receiving the VA healthcare and benefits they earned.

The Invisible Enemy is leading a bipartisan effort in Washington, D.C. to pass federal legislation that will finally recognize these veterans and ensure they receive the medical care and compensation they deserve

Thank You For Your Service tells the powerful story of the men and women who served at the NTTR and the decades-long fight to expose the truth.

The film follows U.S. Air Force veteran Sergeant Dave Crete, who is battling both a lifethreatening illness and a government system that refuses to acknowledge the classified missions he and thousands of others performed.

Filmmakers Mark Shapiro and Douglas Brian Miller reveal the human cost of Cold War weapons testing and the urgent effort now underway in Congress to correct this injustice — capturing a race against time to shatter decades of secrecy before the last witnesses are silenced.

The Private Documentary Screening will bring together corporate leaders, policymakers, veterans’ organizations, and media to raise awareness and accelerate support for legislation that will provide healthcare and compensation to affected veterans and their families.
